The guide
Everything in the app, explained in the order you meet it. Five minutes to read the part you need. Questions that aren't answered here: hello@trustparent.io, we answer within two working days.
Getting started
Create an account with your name, email and a password. Pick your language (English, German or Russian); you can change it later under Family. A mail with a confirmation link arrives right away; tap it within 24 hours. Until you do, the app works, but you can't invite others, link a child's phone or redeem a beta code.
Add your children with first name and birth year. The age steers which question cards, games and practices you see. Up to eight children, up to five adults per family.
Invite your partner, the other parent, a grandparent or the nanny from the Family tab. The invite link is good for 72 hours and one person. You choose the role before you share it (see Roles).
Roles: parent and care
A parent sees everything: the check, the family pattern, the map, Mila, the calendar, points and rewards.
Care is for a grandparent, a nanny or a new partner: they see the calendar, the weekly plan, the handover and the chores, and they can run kids' mode. They don't see the check, the pattern, the map or Mila, and they can't change the family or the plan.
Any parent can switch a member's role under Family or remove an adult from the family (their login goes, the family's data stays). One parent always stays; a family can't be all care.
The family check
Five minutes, no wrong answers, pause anytime. Each parent answers on their own; the second parent sees «check open» until they're done. Separated parents both answer as parents; your own answers stay private, the shared result is for both.
Children answer their own short version in kids' mode. The child sees up front that the adults get a short summary afterwards.
The check is not a diagnosis. It groups the everyday situations families keep landing in.
The family pattern
The result names one of five patterns: short on time, unsure how, talks that stay on the surface, exhausted, no structure. Each comes with what it looks like on a normal Tuesday and what helps first.
The pattern steers the app: which cards come up, which practices are suggested, where the map starts. Nothing is locked in; the progress check can move you.
The Parenting Map
Twelve weeks in steps of two weeks each. Every step has a title, a few concrete actions and a «done» box. One active step at a time; the next one opens when you move on.
Step 1 is free for every family. The whole map is part of Plus.
Every four weeks the app asks for a short progress check: ten quick statements, two minutes. The check decides the next two weeks: the next step opens once the current one has had its two weeks; if another pattern has become your family's weak spot, the map switches to it and starts a new round; a finished map starts a second round. Earlier rounds stay visible on the map.
Today
Today is the home screen. At the top: a short line for the day, then your appointments and open tasks, then the question card of the day, the active map step, the kids' points for the week, something to read and the practice of the day.
Everything on Today is a shortcut; the full lists live in the tabs below.
Question cards
110 cards for dinner, the car or bedtime, sorted by topic and age. Free families get three cards a week, the same three for the whole family. Plus opens all of them.
«We talked» marks a card as used; it won't come back for a while.
Games
Reflection rounds (13 of them) and charades are free. Rounds are short structured talks with a question per person; charades needs nothing but the phone. The other games are part of Plus.
Every game says how long it takes and from which age it works.
Practices
54 short practices, two to ten minutes, for the moment after the shouting, the evening check-in or the drive to school. 11 are free, the rest is Plus.
A practice opens as a sheet with steps; «done» logs it and feeds your streak.
Calendar and tasks
Events carry a date, an optional time and an optional child. Tasks have a due date and belong to an adult or a child; children tick their tasks off in kids' mode.
You can subscribe to the family calendar in Apple, Google or Outlook: Calendar › subscribe gives you a private link. Anyone with the link sees the events, so share it only inside the family.
Two-way sync with Google and Microsoft calendars is planned, not live.
Weekly plan per child
Calendar › weekly plan. Each child has slots per weekday with a time, who is on and a note: who brings, who picks up, sports, homework, screen time. Slots repeat every week, or alternate as week A and week B for two households. Mark a slot done for the day; a slot with points gives them to the child when it's ticked off.
The plan is what a grandparent or the nanny sees first in the care role.
Handover between parents and households
Calendar › handover. One structured note from one parent to the other, in place of the Word file and the long voice message: health, school, sport, money and things, reading, other. Each item can be answered and ticked off; open items carry into the next handover.
Works for two parents in one home and for two households.
Points, chores and rewards
Set up chores with points per child, mark them done in kids' mode or from the points screen. Minus points exist too; use them sparingly.
Rewards cost points. Free families redeem one reward per child a month; Plus has no limit.
Points can be switched off per child (teen mode); the chores and the weekly plan stay.
Kids' mode
On your phone: Family › kids' mode. Set a PIN of four to six digits once; the child sees only their own screen (chores, tasks, points, their check) and can't leave it without the PIN.
On the child's own phone: Family › the child's name › «own phone». A link appears; open it on the child's phone once. That phone then stays signed in as the child, without a password. The link dies after it's used or after a day unused. The child can sign out from their screen; a parent can revoke the phone under Family at any time. A phone that isn't used for 90 days is signed out on its own.
Kids' mode never shows the parents' answers, the pattern or Mila.
Mila
Mila is the assistant in the app, running on Claude, a model by Anthropic. She knows your children's first names and ages and your pattern, and answers in plain words at any hour. Free families have three messages a day, Plus unlimited.
She doesn't diagnose, doesn't name medication, doesn't give legal advice. When it's serious, the app shows helplines for your country before anything else. Your chats are never used to train a model, and you can delete the whole chat with one tap.
Mila is a tool, not the product. Most of the app works without her.
Parents' questions and the Parents School
Parents' questions: 31 short, honest answers to things like «Is it normal that…?», sorted by age. Free for everyone.
The Parents School is a nine-month course for expecting couples, a separate product. Month 1 is free; the whole course costs $49 once. It isn't in the main navigation; families on the «expecting» path see it on Today.
Free and Plus
Free: the check, map step 1, three cards a week, reflection rounds and charades, 11 practices, calendar, tasks, weekly plan, handover, points and chores for all children with one reward per child a month, kids' mode on both phones, Mila three times a day.
Plus: the whole map, all cards, games and practices, rewards without limit, Mila unlimited, up to five adults. $12.99 a month or $99 a year, one subscription for the whole family, cancel in the app.
Beta families keep Plus free until the public launch in February 2027, then pay half for six months.
Recommend a family: Family › recommend gives you a link. When that family confirms their email and finishes the check, you get a month of Plus. Up to twelve months a year.
Account and settings
Family › settings: name, language, reminder time, push notifications on or off, mails on or off.
Export everything as a file (Family › export), or delete your account with your password. Deleting removes your answers, chats and sessions; if you were the last adult, the family goes with you and a running subscription is cancelled.
Privacy in short
The app and its database run on servers in the EU (Amsterdam). Only your own chat with Mila and a short family context (first names, ages, pattern) go to Anthropic in the USA, with a contract that forbids training and storage beyond the answer. No ads, no selling, no tracking across sites.
The full text is in the privacy policy, linked in the footer.
Short answers
Can both parents use one account?
Please don't. Each adult gets their own login and sees the family from their side; the second account is free.
What if I forget the PIN?
Leaving kids' mode is blocked without it, but on your own phone you can set a new PIN under Family at any time.
Does my child need an email address?
No. The child's phone is signed in through the link from your Family tab; no account, no password.
Can I use the app without Mila?
Yes. Everything except the chat works without her, and nothing about your family reaches Anthropic unless you write to her.
How do I cancel Plus?
Family › plan › manage subscription. It stops at the end of the paid period. The yearly plan has a 14-day money-back window.
